About Michelle Clements, CASAC

Michelle Clements is a passionate Substance Abuse Counselor dedicated to empowering patients on our First Responders and Veterans Specialty Track with their recovery process. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Addiction Studies, associate in applied science (Substance Abuse Counseling) and as a OASAS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-Level 2), Michelle has a strong commitment to utilizing her strengths, knowledge and 15+ years of experience to foster trust, accountability and resilience amongst her patients as they explore the physical, behavioral and emotional aspects of addiction. As a Lead Counselor, Michelle engages in a multi-disciplinary team approach to treatment utilizing her strong foundation in empathetic motivational interviewing, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and crisis intervention. Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions allows Michelle to help patients achieve the necessary skills to achieve and maintain sobriety, rebuild relationships and live a healthy lifestyle; all with a mind, body and soul approach to meet the needs of the patients. Michelle remains committed to continuing professional development by learning and staying current with treatment modalities, aftercare options, cultural sensitivity, and community engagement. As a New York State certified EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician- Basic), Michelle also volunteers her time to her community and brings an understanding of the healer and protector culture to the treatment process.
