Understanding Meth Addiction

Meth addiction is a serious type of substance use disorder (SUD) caused by repeated use of methamphetamine, a powerful stimulant that produces intense euphoria and compulsive drug-seeking. This type of addiction can lead to physical and psychological dependence and severe health problems, making substance abuse treatment at a qualified recovery center that addresses the physical and mental ramifications of addiction paramount.

Knowing the Signs & When to Seek Help

Identifying the signs of meth addiction is the first step in seeking help. Common signs of meth use and addiction may include:

  • Rapid weight loss, decline in hygiene, and tooth decay
  • Increased energy, hyperactivity, or reduced need for sleep
  • Mood and behavioral changes, such as agitation, paranoia, hallucinations, violent or unpredictable behavior
  • Repetitive motor behaviors (pacing, picking at skin) and tremors
  • Secretive behavior, social withdrawal, financial problems, or legal troubles

If you or a loved one suspects meth addiction, seeking professional treatment is highly encouraged. Earlier intervention builds a strong foundation for lasting recovery and relapse prevention.

If you or a loved one is experiencing severe symptoms or an overdose, immediate help is necessary. When immediate action is needed, contact emergency services by dialing 911.

Stabilization to Recovery: Our Programs for Treating Meth Addiction

Meth addiction treatment programs at Wellbridge combine medical detox and residential treatment. Treatment in our program is focused on helping patients address the root cause of their challenges with addiction. We do this by providing a unique blend of evidence-based treatments with a whole-person focus in a peaceful environment. Our rehab center and treatment options are designed to support lasting recovery.

Medical Detox & Stabilization

Detoxification is the process of stopping the use of meth or another substance. Due to meth being a highly addictive substance, individuals quickly develop physical dependence. As a result, they experience withdrawal symptoms that can be dangerous for their long-term health and inhibit recovery when they stop using the drug.

Medical detox is often the first step in meth addiction treatment. Through medical detox, patients are supported through their withdrawal symptoms, which helps them stabilize prior to entering residential care.

Residential Treatment & Rehabilitation

During our residential program, patients remain at the treatment facility for the remainder of their treatment. Residential care is ideal for severe symptoms of addiction, allowing patients to step away from the people, places, and things that may trigger their use and fully focus on healing.

Our Approach to Treating Meth Addiction

At Wellbridge, we approach meth addiction treatment through the lens of long-term recovery. We offer multiple treatment modalities and design a program that suits each individual’s needs.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

We offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) that reduces withdrawal symptoms throughout the detox and treatment process. Through MAT, we combine medications with behavioral therapy to help stabilize, reduce cravings, and address the underlying causes of addiction. There are currently no specific FDA-approved medications used for the treatment of meth addiction, but certain prescription medications can help with cravings and motivation.

Licensed & Expert Clinical Team

At Wellbridge, we believe that the effectiveness of addiction recovery programs relies on the team. Therefore, we have assembled a licensed, expert team of clinicians who are committed to the advancement of addiction treatment. Our team members offer expertise, care, and compassion every step of the way.

Daily-Structured Clinical Programming

We offer a highly structured daily program for individuals in our meth treatment program. Our programs run from 8 AM to 8 PM, helping patients to follow a structured plan that supports their long-term recovery. Treatment programs are not rushed; instead, we combine multiple treatment modalities within a structured plan that helps reduce stress while in treatment.

World-Class Accommodations Designed For Healing

Our treatment facilities are designed and built with addiction recovery in mind. We offer a full wellness building and a separate creative arts building. Our wellness center features a state-of-the-art gym, male and female wellness spas (small pools), a hairdresser, an indoor golf simulator, and a yoga studio.

Aftercare Planning & Support

At Wellbridge, we offer continued care and aftercare planning for patients and their family members. We believe that recovery is a lifelong journey, and as patients return to their daily lives, support and care help are still needed to reduce the risk of relapse. Conveniently located just outside of NYC, we offer New Yorkers continued care and support through alumni offerings and referrals to outpatient services.

Recognizing Co-Occurring Disorders

Substance addiction and mental health disorders often co-occur; however, they are distinct conditions that require coordinated treatment. At Wellbridge, we focus on identifying and treating both addiction and any co-occurring mental health issues using an integrated, individualized plan that supports lasting recovery.

Common mental health conditions we treat include:

Depression

Anxiety

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Bipolar Disorder

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Obessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Evidence-Based & Holistic Therapies for Meth Addiction

At Wellbridge, we offer multiple treatment modalities to address every facet of addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges.

Therapies we offer include:

Family Support & Therapy

At Wellbridge, we believe in family engagement in treatment and recovery. As meth addiction impacts both individuals and their loved ones, we aim to provide family support that helps patients and their families heal and move forward. We offer family support through education and family therapy to improve the well-being of clients and their loved ones, offering a treatment plan that helps entire families heal.

Relapse Prevention for Meth Addiction

Meth is a highly addictive substance. Therefore, at Wellbridge, we believe in addressing the risk of relapse early on. We offer relapse prevention, which helps to address mental health challenges, trauma, and other root causes of meth use. In addition, we help patients to adjust patterns in thoughts, feelings, and actions, learning new patterns that support their long-term recovery.

Relapse prevention is unique for each individual, but it provides them with a structured plan that reduces their risk of relapse and increases the chances of long-term recovery.

FAQs

Can you help verify insurance and find the right treatment program before admission?

Yes, our admissions team is highly proficient at verifying insurance and helping you discover the right treatment program. We work with the majority of major insurance providers and can walk you through the process of getting coverage for treatment. At Wellbridge, we know that insurance can be difficult to manage and a roadblock to getting care. Therefore, we offer support and care that can help you or your loved one feel confident that their treatment is covered.

How does your program address mental health needs alongside addiction treatment?

Our program is focused on helping you make real change, which commonly means addressing mental health issues alongside addiction. Mental health issues are often intertwined with addiction, and our team of clinicians designs treatment programs that address both concurrently.

Treatment for mental health needs includes evidence-based treatments such as CBT or DBT. However, we also offer holistic care options that help improve mental health by reducing stress.

Will I require medication?

Meth addiction treatment commonly utilizes MAT during detox as a way to reduce withdrawal symptoms. However, every treatment program is unique, and the use of medication depends on many factors, including drug use and health history. For example, if you have co-occurring alcohol addiction or heavy alcohol use combined with meth addiction, this will shift the treatment plan.

Does insurance cover the cost of treatment?

Insurance commonly covers the cost of addiction treatment. Our admissions team is knowledgeable about insurance plans and can help you connect with your insurance providers to learn more about your plan’s coverage.

Do you accept referrals?

Yes, we are a pioneering organization that is well known in the alcohol and drug rehab community. We both accept and provide referrals, as it is our goal to help you or your loved one heal, whether at Wellbridge or a trusted drug and/or alcohol rehab facility.
