Alyssa Cottone is a Long Island native and has been working in health care the last 10 years of her career. Her dedication to helping others led her to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Wellness Management and a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. This dedication also drove her to attain certification as a Pet Therapy Handler through Therapy Dogs International and American Kennel Club to enhance the healing process for patients in need. Alyssa has been providing clinicians with continuing education credit courses through NYS Board of Education the last four years and is passionate about data, research and an array of health topics.
Alyssa has worked with various at-risk populations and has lobbied at state and federal levels to secure funding and protections for individuals within these communities. She has been featured on the radio, News12 and documentaries addressing deficits within the health care system and ways to support families that are navigating a diagnosis or health crisis. Prior to her role at Wellbridge, Alyssa worked as the Director of Operations for Family First Home Companions, a Long Island based home care company that specializes in dementia and geriatric family support. Prior to this, she was the Program Coordinator for SAGE-LI, a non-profit organization that serves lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender older adults. Through these roles, she found her devotion to supporting families, professionals and clinicians alike through education and positioning herself as a health care community resource.
As the Business Development Specialist, Alyssa will build relationships with professionals and organizations to inform them of how Wellbridge can support their patients, clients, employees and/or constituents. She will engage the Long Island Community to further what is known about addiction, treatment options and what can be done to help those struggling to overcome the disease. Alyssa’s goal is to be a helpful resource for those in need by showcasing all that Wellbridge has to offer; quality, patient-centered care.
