Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research Appoints Elizabeth Moore Executive Director

Campus Construction Well Ahead of Schedule

GARDEN CITY, NY – APRIL 16, 2019 – In its first major executive appointment, Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research (”Wellbridge”) today announced it has selected Elizabeth Moore as its Executive Director. Wellbridge is a joint venture of Northwell Health, the largest healthcare provider in New York state, and Engel Burman, a full-service real estate firm and one of the largest developers of senior housing in New York State.

Moore formerly served as Chief Operating Officer for 15 years at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. She joins Wellbridge as it prepares to open a new 80-bed center on 40 acres in Calverton, New York, this fall. With a focus on accelerating the translation of basic science discoveries into real-time, actionable addiction treatment, Wellbridge will be one of the first facilities to incorporate an onsite research center.

“We are delighted to have such an experienced behavioral health care executive join our team,” said Andrew Drazan, CEO and Co-Founder of Wellbridge. “Liz has an exceptional track record of achievement in all areas of clinical health and addiction treatment operations – from regulatory affairs and finance to admissions and marketing. Just as important, she really cares about helping people, and is incredibly passionate about the need to find innovative approaches to treating substance use disorders.”

Drazan added that construction of the new campus, which broke ground last October, is well ahead of schedule with the exterior of all six buildings completed. Additonally, Wellbridge expects to announce over the next few months, a series of additional key appointments including its Medical Director.

“I am thrilled to be taking on the Executive Director role at Wellbridge and am looking forward to working with the organization’s talented team as it begins to build this unique model for addiction treatment,” commented Moore. “I’ve been involved in behavioral healthcare for a long time and firmly believe that we must approach addiction similar to how the healthcare industry addresses other chronic illnesses like diabetes and cancer. By incorporating research and treatment into one setting, that’s exactly what Wellbridge is aiming to accomplish and why I’m so excited to be part of the organization.”

Moore, who holds an MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York, and a Master of Arts in Neurosciences and Education from Columbia University, began her career at New Jersey’s Bergen Regional Medical Center where she administrated all management aspects of a 321-bed psychiatric division. She continued to take on progressively senior roles at medical centers including New York’s St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Brooklyn’s Lutheran Medical Center and at Silver Hill Hospital, where she managed all operations for the 129-bed facility that provides acute, residential and outpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for adults and adolescents.
