Withdrawal from a substance can be a challenging and debilitating process. At Wellbridge we use proven interventions, including medication management, to help alleviate the physical symptoms of what is commonly known as “detoxification.” Psychotherapies and family involvement are also introduced early in this phase to foster the coping and relapse prevention skills that lay the groundwork for a successful recovery.
Withdrawal from a substance is not the end of your journey, but the beginning. Returning to your home environment immediately after stabilization can undermine the momentum gained during that process and lead to relapse.
Our residential rehabilitation program is designed to support you and your family as you continue with treatment and build on the momentum you gained. It is the place where you can focus on getting well with the aid of continued medical management and a variety of individual and group therapies. Family involvement is also a key component of our residential program.
Wellbridge offers a comprehensive strength-based Family Program grounded in a family’s need to accommodate and support a lasting change. The program offers concrete skill-based techniques and coping skills. We strongly encourage participation in individual family sessions, multi-family sessions and support groups. The proximity of Wellbridge to the NY metro area allows convenient family visits and participation in Family Programs.
Weekly individual, evidence-based 90-minute family therapy sessions (with patient and family) and a licensed family therapist are conducted via tele-health and/or in-person with COVID precautions.
Remote life coaching services protects against relapse and focus on sustained recovery.
Woven into the treatment process
Recognizing that words alone aren’t always enough, the creative process can be a way in and through, promoting a sense of agency, purpose and connection. Creative Arts Therapies can mitigate risk factors in addiction and bolster the course of recovery.
Our Creative Arts Therapy program is designed to complement traditional psychotherapy and family therapy offered at Wellbridge. Licensed Creative Arts Therapists are mental health practitioners trained in psychotherapy and specific arts disciplines – art, music, dance/movement, and drama – holding daily sessions where patients are empowered to be heard, seen and understood in new ways.
In pursuit of holistic wellbeing
We believe that the pursuit of healthy activities and lifestyle choices lead to holistic wellbeing. Recognizing the positive effects of physical activities on quality of life, patients are encouraged to participate in recreational therapy daily. Programs include cardiovascular and resistance training, massage therapy, relaxation in the serenity pool or steam room, yoga, and meditation.
In order to make sure you have a secure foundation for full recovery before you re-enter the world, we offer an extended program. During this time, you will continue the treatment begun during your rehabilitation stay with expanded goals that address your specific family and work life needs while you continue to reside on campus.
Once you have built a solid foundation for your recovery and are ready to leave Wellbridge, we will create an individualized discharge plan. We will coordinate and collaborate with your healthcare provider to ensure a smooth transition and establish a supportive network to maintain your recovery.
We provide remote life coaching services that protect against relapse and focus on sustained recovery.
